ARE YOU READY?
15.08.2011
The time is soon upon us. People all over northern Europe are spending long evenings(and nights!) in dark gloomy garages – all to prepare their vehicles for the main event of the season! And what an event it will be! We have some of the most insane racecars ever seen on European soil, the rarest of the rare of vintage cars with the most hard-to-find accessories and go fast parts. We will have pristine cal-lookers and crusty rat’s, clean standards and over-the-top restos. The vintage corner. The “Camper Bus” theme. Barbeque. Concerts. The Screwdrivers beer tap. The Slackers party. We’ll do our best to have it all so YOU can come into the deep forest of Norway and enjoy. See you there. We can’t wait...
Slot cars at kids lounge!
14.08.2011
This year we have a special surprise in the kids lounge! In addition to the popular drawing section and the relaxing mini movie theater, we have set up a super cool, four lanes, HO slot car race track! So the kids can take part in the speed action as well. And the traditional F1 slot cars are of course set aside, and instead we have Volkswagen race cars, and among them are superstar Herbie!!
Let Herbie go bananas!
Will he make it on time?
11.08.2011
Tor Øyvind Skinne have had a busy year with customer engines, so much that his record-breaking oval have been sitting in a corner waiting. Since the engine haven’t been opened in years, Tor Øyvind decided to have a look inside, everything was well so it went right back together. But he is cutting it a bit close, as this picture was taken last weekend!
We are counting on you Tor Øyvind!
No guts, No story
09.08.2011
Magne Bævre from Lampeland, Norway has stories like you would not believe. Literally. He’s travelled the world both with and without his many cars. His latest addition is this lovely Type 3 Fastback, the product of a seven year restoration! The first thing he did after completing the build was to go off to Bug-Run in Sweden. 1200km round trip. Under it’s own power of course, no trailer here! When he came home he turned around and went to Europe. We’re not sure how long the trip ended up being, but having been to meetings in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and of course Norway he put many many miles on the car. And he was awarded at least one trophy at each show! Here he is getting his beloved Fastback ready for the next big thing – The SCC! If you choose to go, take the long road. You’ll have more stories.

CALM BEFORE THE STORM
23.07.2011
People are hard at work in the garages this summer as everyone is getting their machines ready for SCC. Well, almost all, our good friend Jussi from Finland is on a holyday!
You’d be forgiven to think that he might have the world famous blue split racer sitting ready at home. Well, it’s not… as it’s sold, and so is the mighty type4 engine! Why have he reserved a depot space then? You see, when he’s coming back from his vacation he’s building a new race car for SCC! This time a super light Ghia! He tells us he has all the parts laying around including another BIG type4. He has already trial fitted the body over the cassis so he is confident that he will be able to build the whole car in two intensive weeks! According to Jussi it will be a FINNISH-style street race Ghia, with a FINNMADE type 4 2.9 engine with type 1 gearbox including FINNISH gears + FINNISH R/P and FINNISH race axles! For traction he’s relying on a set of super sticky M&H dot street slicks! But will he finish in time??
Jussi: Live to race, race to win!

ROCKING & MIXING IT UP!!
23.06.2011
Most things at SCC stays the same, why would you change something that just works? However something that does change every year is the band, and this year we have booked a experienced crew that goes under the appropriate name of Street Legal! They describe their sound as if Thin Lizzy would meet Whitesnake in a dark alley! Chances are that they will work just fine in a dark forest too! And to spread the goodness more evenly out over the whole weekend we have now decided to move the concert to Friday night!! So after you have enjoyed a couple of burgers at the traditional Screwdrivers BBQ you can just stroll along up to the big stage and take in the STREET LEGAL gospel!
ARE YOU READY TO RUUUMBLE?!?!!

PINSTRIPING SHOW!
22.06.2011
Blazej is a very skilled pinstriper from Poland, and he is currently settling here in Oslo, Norway. He is also into vintage Volkswagens, participating at SCC for many years. This year he will set up a small workshop at SCC and do live pinstriping! He will show his work, and also do some work on the traditional SCC stinger trophies, making them unique for this ten year anniversary! He does not only do pinstriping, but signwriting and gold leafing as well. So if you want a special souvenir from SCC 2011, bring a item, maybe your beetles ashtray, your SCC mug, an air cleaner or whatever suits you and make a appointment with Blazej at SCC. You find more pictures of his work at www.pinstripe.pl and http://www.facebook.com/PinstripePL

Berserk has become a well known Norwegian racecar during the last few years, most off all because of its owner and driver Jøran Larsen`s massive burnouts and high wheelies. Now Jøran has decided to move on to new challenges and Berserk has changed owner. But the new owner knows the car very well as he is also the former owner!! When Kristoffer “Kormi” Kormilitzin used to race the car, he had a huge turbo engine in it. Now the plan is to fit Roar Lunde`s old 2386ccm nitrous engine to the car, producing a whooping 265 N/A HP and additionally 150 NOS HP! The engine ran a previous 9,88sec in Roars old racecar with only a moderate portion of NOS. So when Kormi changes the nozzles to HUGE, we can expect thunder and lightning from the Berserk!
Can he put it on the track?!
BEST OF SHOW
18.04.2011
The CSP team, with crew chief Peter Köhmann and the CSP Type-3 Ghia, has been faithful SCC participants for years. Last year they reached their goal and Ron Lummus managed a world record at 8,885 sec in the 1/4 mile at Gardermoen, as they was the first ever to run in the eighths with a stock Volkswagen magnesium engine case and stock Volkswagen Type 1 transmission case. This winter the Ghia got a proper paint job to match the car, and the CSP team does not settle with anything less than 100%! This resulted in the Best of Show award at the Volksworld Show in London this year, and if you missed the opportunity to check it out there, you can see every detail on the car at their new website http://www.csp-ghia.de Peter tells us, he and his crew are coming to race the Ghia again at SCC 2011, and we are so looking forward to see this world record racer on the track in its new suit! So you better not miss this opportunity to see it in action!
Let’s put that 2011 sticker on!
PLAN YOUR TRIP IN TIME!

It´s finally spring!! After a looong winter all over Europe VW fans are taking their cars out of hibernation and started waxing and polishing. Many even took the trip to Ninove, Belgium for one of the early shows of the season: The excellent Freddyfiles! Many more will be at the Volksworld show this weekend… Of course we will be there too! We get a lot of emails about hotel arrangements during this years SCC, and we are pleased to announce the official SCC hotel will be the same as ever, the Quality Airport Hotel Gardermoen. The prices for the weekend(pr. night) are as follows:
Single room: 750NOK / 95€ Double room: 950NOK / 120€ Prices include free parking, breakfast, coffee buffet, and internet access.

See you somewhere in Europe this summer!
THE BLUESMOBUG!
23.01.11
Ain't nothing like a hard cold winter to motivate us to stay in and work on our VWs for SCC 2011! Arild Dyrkorn, the SCC official photographer and co-speaker, has finally been persuaded to get his full custom project, The Bluesmobug, back on track after 15 years of hibernation. It was quite a struggle to get it out of the barn where it has nested for the last few years. Just Arild and a friend were present to carry the whole thing in a foot of snow down a steep barn bridge. The bodywork on the Bluesmobug was done by Thomas Tørjesen, now of Norwegian Hammerworks fame, more than 15 years ago. The 1964 body was chopped 3" and shortened 5". The 5" slice was cut out of the rear quarter panels. The B-posts were removed and the door-window frames cut off and welded to the roof. The rear window and deck lid comes from an oval Beetle. The floor pan has of course been shortened accordingly, and lots of strengthening has been made throughout. All this to make it into a (hopefully) well proportioned full custom hard top Beetle, finished off with full fenders and lots of neat custom tricks. All the work being done in cooperation with the Rod, Custom and VW experts at Norwegian Hammerworks. Arild guarantees that The Bluesmobug will be scraping the asphalt under its own power on the way to SCC, eight months away from now. - It'll be a primer low budget version for the 2011 show. Shiny paint and more costly stuff, like air ride and a tuned engine will come later, Arild tells us.
SCC 2011 ANNOUNCED!
30.09.10
The date for SCC 2011 has been set. On the 19th, 20th and 21th of August 2011 we will bring you more show, more shine, more music, more racing, more traders, more records, more holey moley´s, more awards, more burgers, more cars, more beer, more fun, nice weather, more craziness and more SCC spirit!
Other than the before mentioned adjustments, it´s really all the same. We hope you will find SCC to your liking again, just like on your last visit.
We would like to extend our sympathies to the ones who can´t make it to Gardermoen next year, we understand. There´s always next year.
SCC AT DAS DRAG DAY #8!
20.09.10
We are now back from a absolutely FANTASTIC weekend in Bitburg, Germany. DDD8 was held there this weekend and the SCC crew was there campaigning the "BERSERK" race car.
Driver Jøran Larssen managed to push the ET from 11,34 down to 11,11 over the weekend, less than one hundredth of a second from his personal best. A great performance on the unglued Bitburg track!
The SCC was also promoted during the weekend, and it seems the limited edition SCC 2011 sticker was well received amongst the participants.
We would like to thank the DAS club for hosting one of Europe´s coolest VW racing events and for hospitality absolutely second to none.
It´s all about the people.

THE SCC AWARDS SHOW 2010!
23.08.10
At the Show and Shine at this years SCC, the quality of cars was like never before. The highlight for many was when Morten Lund did the impossible and drove his "Deep Water" Samba up on stage under it´s own power to receive the award for "Best Rat Look", to the roar from hundreds of spectators! Morten won the "Crazy" award for salvaging the same car one year ago from a mountain lake, 50 feet below the surface. What an achievement!!!
As always, the "Stinger" awards are chosen by an independent jury, and the classic vinyl ones are chosen by SCC crew. Big thanks goes to CSP for sponsoring the awards and Finn Erik Stensrød for helping out making them.

The SCC 2010 is officially over. It has been the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime. We had the Vintage Village. We had the Slackers Party. We had 8 second drag racers. We had record numbers in participants, show cars and racers. We had gearbox parts flying all over the starting line.
People from all over the world gathered around the Screwdrivers tent on Friday evening to bench race and tell stories. And boy do they have some stories to tell their friends when they get back home…
We think the picture below sums up the spirit of SCC pretty good. Captured by photographer and co-speaker Arild Dyrkorn, it shows Tor Øyvind Skinne two seconds after his purple streetcar set a new world record. ET8,60 - 272km/h.
