2008-08-20 The fat lady has sung, the sun has set, the show is over. And WHAT a show it has been!!! We archived our goal of getting every kind of VW enthusiast coming to the SCC! We had, amongst many other things: Pre 50 and war-time original cars, a Hebmuller, Schwimmwagen, Resto-Look, Cal-Look, German-Look, Racecars, Buses, Bajas, Buggys, Type 3 and 4, the list is endless. Records were set, burnouts made and wheelies seen like never before. And from the feedback both at the event and on the internet afterwards everyone LOVED it! As far as we know some 1000 people brought something in the region of 400 aircooled cars and over 60 of them raced the 1/4 mile. For those who where there it was proven once and for all that a great event is not made by the sheer number of cars, but by the quality of the cars there. The bar was set high to say the least! People brought their show and race cars from all over Europe. 13 nations were represented! The SCC spirit proved to be alive and well, as many people reported they had never been to an event with such an unique feeling of comradery between fellow VW enthusiasts! The SCC crew has already been harassed by hordes of people wanting to pre-book their ticket to next years SCC!!! Well, rest assured the SCC crew is NOT resting on their laurels! SCC #8 is coming YOUR way in 2009!!! The picture below is of Erik Dahlberg, chairman of the first two SCC´s. It ´s captured at this years event by Volksworld´s´Matt Keene. Erik broke three(3) gearboxes this weekend, and we´ve never seen him so happy. We think that sums up SCC rather well. HOLEY MOLEY!!!
